Telephone, TeleBible Studies, Tell a Friend

TeleBible studies: WHAT?

TeleBible studies are Bible studies conducted by telephone.  Simple concept, right? Here are 6 reasons why we’re doing it.

TeleBible studies: WHY?

Who doesn’t have a God-sized hole in their ‘heart’?  We all do. It’s how we are built. And we remain unfulfilled until we fill it with the “Right Thing”.  Reason #1

I want more. My hunger and thirst –for God- is insatiable. I’m not alone. Now that He’s in my heart, the desire to know Him experientially has grown and I want to develop a relationship with Him that continually evolves and is a source of satisfaction to Him, me and others. I want to mature. I’ve matured as a woman: surely I can mature as a Christian.  Am I alone? NO WAY! Reason #2

I’m busy, locally stationed, desire a meaty Bible studies that reviews the basics but is advanced, and have found something worth sharing with the world (and, no, I’m not saying that because I created it). Reasons #3-6

Lastly, and most importantly, the ultimate reason is…well, browse around this blog (About, etc). It’s all there.

Testimonial

“Never has a series of studies provoked me to go beyond what is commonly rehearsed and decide to claim responsibility for what I already know, as this one has. I walk away each time with the wind knocked out of me, but also ready for the next round.”-JCF

I’m thankful for that testimonial- for all of them. I take nothing for granted. You pray and agonize and pour your heart out to God to do something, and when He does, He takes your breath away.  I think it’s His interesting way of reminding us who He is (and what “Who He is” means).

I honestly pray that God continues to ‘knock the wind’ out of all us SDA’s.  All of us who attend the studies feel the same as you do. Thanks again for voicing our shared thought.

When God ‘Keeps it Real’

Do you have a friend who keeps it absolutely “real”– or are you that friend? I have a friend that keeps it real re: his thoughts about God. Sometimes he scares me, but I have to be honest…he says some things that I’m thinking but am too afraid (and too smart, LOL) to say.

One thing often said is, “It seems as if most of my prayers are null and void!” That’s honest and seems true. But then I read this morning’s devotion- December 6- My Utmost of His Highest (I love this devotional so much I often read it more than once per day. That’s why I’m in Dec.). To me, this devotional gives me a glimpse of God keeping it real.

I will be pondering it for the whole day. Honestly! I guess I’m inviting you to ponder with me…

“My Rainbow in the Cloud”

“I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth”

—Genesis 9:13

It is the will of God that human beings should get into a right-standing relationship with Him, and His covenants are designed for this purpose. Why doesn’t God save me? He has accomplished and provided for my salvation, but I have not yet entered into a relationship with Him. Why doesn’t God do everything we ask? He has done it. The point is— will I step into that covenant relationship? All the great blessings of God are finished and complete, but they are not mine until I enter into a relationship with Him on the basis of His covenant.

Waiting for God to act is fleshly unbelief. It means that I have no faith in Him. I wait for Him to do something in me so I may trust in that. But God won’t do it, because that is not the basis of the God-and-man relationship. Man must go beyond the physical body and feelings in his covenant with God, just as God goes beyond Himself in reaching out with His covenant to man. It is a question of faith in God–a very rare thing. We only have faith in our feelings. I don’t believe God until He puts something tangible in my hand, so that I know I have it. Then I say, “Now I believe.” There is no faith exhibited in that. God says, “Look to Me, and be saved . . .” (Isaiah 45:22).

When I have really transacted business with God on the basis of His covenant, letting everything else go, there is no sense of personal achievement— no human ingredient in it at all. Instead, there is a complete overwhelming sense of being brought into union with God, and my life is transformed and radiates peace and joy.

NOW THAT’S KEEPING IT REAL. What do you think?

Technical Difficulties

Bible studies was AWESOME tonight!! So glad so many were able to come on the line. And just when things were getting good….the storm took out my phone and I lost my signal.

I do apologize for the interruption. Please visit the Audio page and download the audio for Lesson 2. IT WAS AN AWESOME study regarding God that, to me, will impact my everyday life.

The file should be ready Tuesday afternoon for your convenience.

We had room for 80 tonight. Make sure you tell your friends, SHARE the page, and LIKE us. God bless!

Ditching Church This Weekend?

It’s one thing to ditch church…it’s another thing to ditch God.  We do it all the time- and then justify it. What’s been your most recent justification? Ultimately, is there any justification?

God invites us to get ‘caught up’ in Him, yet we get caught up in everything else besides- and then ditch the relationship or manipulate it and make it something of our own devising. “God knows my heart”. “I worship Him MY way!” Are you serious?!

What do you do to people who relate to you in “their way” irrespective of your stated basic preferences and RIGHTS? Are you more honorable than God?

God is worth another chance…as are you. Take the time to determine His character and His prescription and provisions for your happiness and well-being. Start from the beginning: Genesis. I’m serious.

When was the last time you took part in a Bible studies that SCRATCHED THAT DIVINE ITCH?- that SLAKED YOUR THIRST? Take part in the Everlasting Gospel TeleBible Studies with me. Today!

Do it now. Download lesson 1 then listen to the audio of our last Bible studies session. I’ll be reviewing the answers and, hopefully, giving you plenty to think about.

We’re using Genesis to help us understand the Gospel of Jesus and its relevance to our daily lives (hum-drum, chaotic, busy, drama-filled, etc).

Most importantly, TAKE PART MONDAY in the Bible studies. We’re up to #2.

Tell 25 of your friends. You never know who’s been silently searching. And next week, don’t ditch church.

In the Beginning

MONDAY NIGHT  the Everlasting Gospel Bible Series (EGBS) made history with its 1st TeleBible studies.  People from around the world were invited to call in AND invite their friends and family to do the same.

The response was better than anticipated!

The rebroadcast version is available online for one and all! Click here.

We’re studying about the Gospel of Jesus- using the book of Genesis. Incredible, isn’t it?  What really stood out for me and Leslie Waugh (I like her, she’s not shy…besides, she posted publicly on Facebook so I’m not putting her on blast) was the portion dealing with the power of God.

When we reviewed the awesome, Omnipotent power of God and His spoken word, we saw that the ONE FORCE able to render it null and void is our unbelief. Wow! How many times have I defied and blocked God’s will for my life because of my lack of faith?!

I closed the lesson with a prayer that the Creator of the Universe would create in us a clean heart that cooperates with Him more…a heart that BELIEVES.

I was blessed as were other attendees. Our next lesson is entitled, “God’s Will”. Do you know His will? Are you living it?  This lesson is DEEP. Download  your copy and begin studying.

Please email your comments or post them on our Facebook page or on this blog site. Either way, see you Monday!

……………AND TELL A FRIEND!  We’d like to ‘see’ 50 more people next Monday. Read Luke 14:23 to see why.
